Tennessee now runs three school-choice programs with different rules, different portals and different school lists, and the information a family needs is spread across TDOE web pages, PDFs and spreadsheets. Nashville Edu Funding puts it in one place for Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Sumner and Wilson counties: what each program pays, who qualifies, and which nearby schools can actually be paid.
A tuition counselor reviews each funding check and follows up by phone. Some schools and organizations partner with us; those relationships are labeled where they appear and do not change which sources we recommend.
Where the school data comes from
The directory starts from the NCES Private School Survey for 2023-24 (with 2021-22 records for schools that did not respond), 119 records after removing five duplicate rows. We matched each record by name and location to TDOE's 2026-27 Non-Public Schools Directory (updated October 5, 2026) for its approval category, accrediting agency, enrollment and website, then flagged schools on TDOE's 2026-27 Registered EFS Schools list (updated August 24, 2026; 82 entries in the five counties) and the Middle Tennessee ESA participating-school list (updated September 24, 2026; 42 local campuses). 18 EFS or ESA schools missing from the federal survey were added from the TDOE directory. All files were retrieved October 28, 2026.
Two list entries, the Jewish Middle School and Kehilla High School, share one TDOE directory record, so the directory shows 81 EFS-flagged and 41 ESA-flagged records. Program amounts and dates come from TDOE's EFS, ESA and IEA pages and timelines; pre-K from TDOE's FY2027 VPK scope of services and MNPS; child care from TDHS; dual enrollment from TSAC; income lines from the USDA guidelines effective July 1, 2026.
